Incorrect memory writes via untranslated measurement-block address
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Address confusion in Linux s390 channel measurement allows attackers to cause incorrect memory writes during measurement collection. In drivers/s390/cio/cmf.c, set_schib() assigns a virtual address to sch->config.mba without the absolute-address translation required by firmware. The defect requires CONFIG_RANDOMIZE_IDENTITY_BASE=y and extended-format measurement on s390; attacker control and further consequences are undocumented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
