Resource leaks via incomplete AP queue cleanup
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Resource leaks in Linux s390 VFIO-AP allow attackers to strand host pages and interrupt registrations during AP queue removal. vfio_ap_mdev_reset_queue() and apq_status_check() omit cleanup for AP_RESPONSE_Q_NOT_AVAIL, while vfio_ap_free_aqic_resources() retains saved_isc after KVM teardown, leaving a double-free risk. The leak requires guest-enabled queue interrupts and removal of an assigned queue from the host AP configuration; the published description does not establish attacker control over that removal or a resulting host crash.
