Guest termination via unhandled debug-register encoding
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Incorrect debug-register handling in Linux 6.14 arm64 KVM allows guest OS users to terminate their VM via DBGBXVR access. The demux_wb_reg() dispatcher omits the register's Op2 value of 1, causing the guest access to trigger KVM_BUG_ON() and mark the VM dead. Exposure requires an AArch32 guest on an affected arm64 host; the documented consequence is termination of the accessing VM, not a host crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
