Memory corruption via doubled btree key copies
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Memory corruption in Linux 6.14 XFS allows attackers to overwrite adjacent kernel memory during realtime refcount root conversion. The xfs_rtrefcountbt_from_disk and xfs_rtrefcountbt_to_disk functions copy twice the required key-array length even though internal nodes contain only one key set. Exposure requires reaching these XFS realtime refcount metadata conversion paths; attacker privileges and reliable exploitation consequences beyond memory corruption are not published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
