Freed-memory access via stale conntrack expectation pointers
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux 6.2 act_ct allows attackers to trigger freed-memory access via connection-tracking helpers. In tcf_ct_act(), helpers link expectations to extension storage before later extension additions reallocate it, leaving stale pointers that expectation removal accesses. Reachability requires helper processing on an unconfirmed connection followed by extension reallocation; attacker privileges and operational consequences are not specified publicly.
