Kernel warning via missing TDLS peer validation
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Missing peer validation in Linux kernel mac80211 allows local users to trigger a kernel warning via TDLS setup-confirm requests. The ieee80211_tdls_mgmt function builds a setup-confirm frame without first checking that the destination exists as a TDLS station. Reachability requires access to the local TDLS management path; published evidence demonstrates a warning, not a kernel crash or remote compromise.
