False warnings via blocked proxy-donor migration
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Incorrect warning logic in the Linux 7.1 scheduler allows context-dependent attackers to trigger false warnings via blocked donor migration. The set_task_cpu() function in kernel/sched/core.c warns on migration-disabled tasks without excluding blocked proxy donors whose scheduling context moves while their execution placement remains valid. Proxy execution and a migration-disabled blocked donor are required; the documented example completes normally, while enabling panic_on_warn converts warnings into a kernel panic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
