Kernel crash via uninitialized power-sequencer cleanup
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
NULL-pointer dereference in Linux power sequencing allows attackers to crash the kernel via failed device registration. In pwrseq_device_register(), dev_set_name() failure reaches cleanup before pwrseq->targets is initialized, and pwrseq_release() traverses that uninitialized list. Reaching the fault requires power-sequencer registration and device-naming failure; public evidence does not establish attacker control or required privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
