Heap corruption via mis-scaled key-removal pointer
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Heap corruption in Linux's RSI Wi-Fi driver allows context-dependent attackers to overwrite kernel memory during key removal. In rsi_hal_load_key(), structure-scaled indexing instead of a byte offset directs memset beyond the allocated buffer into unrelated heap objects. The affected driver must be in use; disconnects, roaming, and interface teardown reach the write, but attacker control and further exploitation outcomes are not documented.
