CVE-2026-98395

Kernel warning via interrupt-replay mask corruption

Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026

Interrupt-mask corruption in Linux 7.2 PowerPC entry code allows attackers unspecified impact via unspecified vectors. During interrupt replay, arch_interrupt_exit_prepare() calls local_irq_disable(), overwriting irq_soft_mask and clearing IRQS_PMI_DISABLED before next_interrupt() checks it. The documented consequence is a warning during early boot on a POWER10 pseries guest; attacker control and a resulting crash or service interruption are not established.
