Kernel warning via stale page-fault acknowledgments
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
A race in drm/xe in Linux Kernel 6.19 allows attackers to trigger a kernel warning via stale GPU page-fault acknowledgments. The xe_pagefault_queue_work worker acknowledges faults from torn-down GPU virtual memory contexts without holding a runtime power-management reference, reaching guc_ct_send_locked() after device suspension. The condition requires the Xe GPU driver, queued stale faults, and autosuspend during teardown; the documented consequence is an assertion warning, not a demonstrated crash or privilege escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
