Out-of-bounds access via unchecked inner-map replacement
Published Oct 9, 2026 · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Linux BPF allows local users to access kernel memory beyond a per-CPU array via inner-map replacement. In kernel/bpf/arraymap.c, percpu_array_map_ops uses bpf_map_meta_equal() without comparing max_entries, accepting a smaller replacement while JIT lookups retain the original index_mask. Triggering requires permission to replace the inner map and execute the JIT lookup; a crash, data disclosure, or privilege escalation is not established by the published patch.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
