Kernel use-after-free via redundant ALLOCSPI translation
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux kernel XFRM compat ALLOCSPI handling allows local users with CAP_NET_ADMIN to trigger a kernel memory-safety fault. In xfrm_alloc_userspi(), a redundant alloc_compat() call translates the original request after dump_one_state() has already translated the response, reading past the compat payload and attaching a child to the request. A 32-bit compat request and a racing multicast receiver are required for that child to be accessed after xfrm_user_rcv_msg() frees it.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
