Remote kernel oops via wrapped RDMA range
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Integer overflow in the Linux kernel's RDMA/rxe memory-range check allows remote attackers to trigger a kernel oops via crafted RDMA reads or writes. The mr_check_range() function adds an attacker-supplied IOVA and length without overflow protection, allowing a wrapped end address to pass validation before rxe_mr_copy_xarray() indexes beyond mr->page_info. Exploitation requires an active Soft RoCE responder with a reachable registered memory region; the documented outcome is a kernel oops, not demonstrated code execution.
