Out-of-bounds read via unchecked SCPI OPP count
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Linux's ARM SCPI DVFS driver reads past a fixed-size firmware reply when the SCP reports more operating points than the reply can contain. In scpi_dvfs_get_info(), the unchecked opp_count controls iteration over buf.opps[] despite that array holding only MAX_DVFS_OPPS entries, and it sizes the allocated OPP table from the same count. Exposure requires an ARM Linux system using SCPI DVFS and an oversized SCP firmware reply; the available evidence does not establish a remote or local user-controlled entry point.
