Out-of-bounds clock-rate read via unchecked DVFS index
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in the SCPI clock driver in Linux 4.4 allows incorrect clock-rate reporting when SCP firmware returns an invalid DVFS index. In scpi_dvfs_recalc_rate, only negative values from dvfs_get_idx are rejected; an index at or above the operating-point count reads past info->opps. The condition requires buggy or stale SCP firmware on a system using SCPI DVFS clocks and can expose an invalid frequency to clock consumers.
