CVE-2026-98353

Kernel deadlock via IRQ-unsafe XArray locking

Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026

A deadlock in the Linux erdma RDMA driver allows attackers to hang kernel execution when an EQ interrupt races with QP or CQ creation. Create-path updates hold a plain XArray lock without disabling interrupts, so an interrupt-side lookup can spin forever on that same lock. The race requires an affected erdma device and a coincident EQ interrupt; the upstream fix does not establish a remote trigger.
