CVE-2026-98350

Wi-Fi reassociation failure via omitted PMKID

Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026

Improper initialization in Linux 6.16 disrupts Wi-Fi reassociation on affected CYW adapters after successful authentication. The brcmf_cyw_external_auth function sends an uninitialized auth_status structure to firmware and fails to copy the supplied PMKID into it. The firmware caches garbage and rejects a later association containing that PMKID; the published record documents no external attack trigger.
