Reflected XSS via unescaped AJAX task parameter
Published Jul 20, 2026 · Updated Jul 20, 2026
Reflected XSS in TaxoPress Tag Groups before 2.2.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted AJAX request. The tg_ajax_manage_groups action inserts the tag_groups_task parameter into a text/html response without escaping, causing the browser to parse injected markup. Exploitation requires a logged-in user with edit_pages capability, such as an Editor or Administrator, to follow the crafted link; script execution occurs in that user's browser session.
