CVE-2026-98307

Kernel memory leak via incomplete ath11k peer cleanup

Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026

A memory leak in the Linux ath11k Wi-Fi driver leaves station statistics buffers allocated after firmware-crash recovery. The ath11k_mac_peer_cleanup_all() path removes peers before ieee80211_restart_hw() without freeing arsta->rx_stats and arsta->tx_stats. The leak requires an ath11k device with allocated station statistics and a firmware crash; the record reports retained kernel allocations, not a demonstrated remote trigger or host crash.
