Adjacent-page corruption via stale DMA page lookup
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Memory corruption in the Linux kernel swiotlb bounce path shifts partial DMA copies to an adjacent page on affected high-memory systems. The swiotlb_bounce() function selects a page frame before applying the sync offset, then combines that stale page with an offset from the adjusted address. The error requires a partial DMA synchronization that crosses a page boundary; the public patch establishes incorrect writes and reads but no attacker-controlled entry path.
