Kernel out-of-bounds read via wrong blob length
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Linux 5.13 and later allows local users to trigger a kernel buffer overread via a crafted TPM2 trusted-key blob. The tpm2_load_cmd() function checks lengths within the decoded key against the larger ASN.1 payload length instead of the decoded buffer length. The path requires TPM-backed trusted keys and a local key-loading request; the published patch does not establish data disclosure or a host crash.
