Kernel use-after-free via undrained MMC callbacks
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux mxcmmc MMC host driver allows attackers to trigger a stale host dereference during device removal. The mxcmci_remove() path frees the host without draining queued datawork or the DMA watchdog, allowing either callback to access freed host memory. Exposure requires the affected MMC controller driver and removal while its asynchronous work remains pending; no network trigger is documented.
