CVE-2026-98190

Host crash via undersized P2P action frames

Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux wilc1000 driver since 5.7 allows physically proximate attackers to crash hosts with short P2P action frames. The receive path accepts a frame after a 25-byte category check, then reads a 32-byte header and underflows the length passed to cfg80211_find_vendor_ie(). The crash requires wilc1000 hardware operating in P2P listen mode; no Wi-Fi association is required.
