MMIO mapping leak via skipped device-removal unmap
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
An MMIO mapping leak in Linux's AMDGPU driver leaves register BAR mappings allocated during device removal. The amdgpu_pci_remove path calls drm_dev_unplug before fini_sw, making drm_dev_enter false and skipping the guarded iounmap of rmmio. Each hot-unplug or module unload leaves one mapping behind; the published fix does not establish an unauthenticated network trigger or a further consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
