CVE-2026-98176Hinoki check available

Incorrect EOP ring configuration via integer underflow

Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026

Integer underflow in Linux drm/amdkfd produces an invalid EOP ring-size field for theoretically undersized queue buffers. The MQD update routine subtracts two from the result of ffs when setting cp_hqd_eop_control, which underflows if ffs returns zero or one. The upstream patch states that ring buffers cannot be smaller than 4096 bytes in practice; it establishes neither a reachable trigger nor a concrete security consequence.
