Kernel crash via stale TTM bulk-move cursor
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux TTM memory management allows attackers to crash the kernel after buffer-object swapout and cleanup. In ttm_bo_swapout_cb(), a zero-success test skips bulk-move removal when ttm_tt_swapout() succeeds with a positive page count, leaving a cursor that can later point to freed memory. The documented crashes followed hibernation and later cleanup on an AMD system; the public patch does not establish a direct attacker-controlled trigger.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
