Kernel memory corruption via malformed CLC firmware
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in the Linux mt7921 Wi-Fi driver allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory via malformed CLC firmware. The mt7921_load_clc function trusts the firmware region count, record lengths, and CLC index, permitting pointers before the image, nonadvancing loops, and writes beyond phy->clc. Exploitation requires an affected MediaTek adapter and control of its firmware image; the resulting corruption can hang the driver or crash the kernel.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
