Service degradation via leaked RDMA queue resources
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Linux nvmet-rdma allows remote attackers to degrade service by exceeding the connection backlog. When disconnecting queues already exceed the backlog limit, the connect path drops only the device reference, leaving the new queue and its InfiniBand resources allocated. An exposed NVMe-over-RDMA target and repeated connections are required to accumulate unreleased kernel resources; no data disclosure or modification is reported.
