DMA mapping leak via incomplete transmit cleanup
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
DMA mapping leakage in the stmmac TSO transmit path in Linux allows attackers to consume mappings via fragment-mapping failures. When a socket-buffer fragment cannot be mapped, stmmac_tso_xmit drops the frame without unmapping the linear buffer or fragments that were already mapped. The failure must occur after at least one mapping succeeds; public sources do not identify a direct attacker trigger or a demonstrated service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
