Kernel crash via missing platform driver data
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel 5.14 allows attackers to crash the kernel during a system suspend or resume. msc313e_wdt_probe() fails to store the platform-device driver data, so the suspend and resume callbacks obtain NULL from dev_get_drvdata() and dereference it. Exposure requires the MStar MSC313e watchdog driver on supported hardware and a power-management transition; the bounded consequence is a kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
