Kernel memory corruption via ECRED channel miscount
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Linux kernel L2CAP allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through concurrent ECRED socket connections. l2cap_chan_connect() counts only deferred pending channels, so a DDDDND sequence admits six source CIDs into the five-entry scid array built by l2cap_ecred_connect(). The condition requires concurrent deferred and non-deferred local L2CAP connections; the single out-of-bounds __le16 write can corrupt adjacent kernel memory and sends an invalid ECRED connection request.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
