Kernel assertion via unchecked receive-buffer tailroom
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux oa_tc6 Ethernet driver in 6.12 allows attackers to trigger a kernel assertion via oversubscribed traffic. The receive path keeps appending chunks while waiting for an end_valid marker and calls skb_put after exhausting socket-buffer tailroom. Reachability requires the oa_tc6 receive path and sustained buffer-overflow errors with lost chunks; the record does not establish a full-system crash or remote attacker control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
