Kernel data disclosure via uninitialized TIPC padding
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Information disclosure in Linux TIPC allows remote attackers to read residual kernel packet-buffer data during link setup. The net/tipc/link.c builder copies only the interface-name bytes into a fixed-length field, leaving stale skb padding that RESET and ACTIVATE messages transmit. Exposure requires TIPC cluster networking and a peer that receives link-establishment traffic; disclosure is limited to residual buffer contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
