Clock reference leak via unbalanced PCM callbacks
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Resource-management flaw in Linux 6.13 allows local users to leave the fsl_micfil master clock enabled through PCM state transitions. fsl_micfil_hw_params enables mclk on every call, while fsl_micfil_hw_free disables it without ensuring that the callbacks are paired. Triggering the imbalance requires access to PCM operations on a system using the MICFIL driver; repeated setup leaks an enable reference, while an unmatched free raises a kernel warning.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
