Lost connection-state updates via non-atomic flag reset
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Race condition in the Linux kernel RDS connection reset path allows attackers to discard concurrent connection-state updates via unspecified vectors. The rds_conn_path_reset() function overwrites the entire cp_flags word with a plain store while other paths modify individual bits atomically, so a racing operation loses its update. Triggering requires a reset to overlap an atomic flag update; the documented consequence is lost RDS connection-state flags, with no broader security impact published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
