Kernel state corruption via unsynchronized RDS socket reset
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Race condition in Linux kernel RDS/TCP 4.7 allows attackers to corrupt transmit-path state during concurrent socket reset. In rds_tcp_reset_callbacks(), sampling RDS_IN_XMIT as clear does not acquire the bit, so rds_send_xmit() can reacquire it while rds_send_path_reset() rewrites cp_xmit state and a cached t_sock pointer becomes stale. Triggering the flaw requires concurrent RDS/TCP transmission and connection reset on a weakly ordered architecture; the published record specifies no further user-visible consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
