CVE-2026-98066Hinoki check available

Kernel memory corruption via stale resource pointers

Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026

Double free in the Linux ALSA caiaq driver allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory when audio-resource initialization fails. In snd_usb_caiaq_audio_init, failure paths free URB arrays and callback metadata without clearing their pointers, so later teardown frees the allocations again. Reachability requires the snd-usb-caiaq driver, a supported USB audio device, and an initialization error; no stronger consequence is established.
