Kernel crash via const-void BTF rendering
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in affected Linux kernels allows local users to crash the kernel by passing a const-void BTF type to bpf_snprintf_btf(). btf_modifier_show() resolves the modifier to void and unconditionally invokes btf_type_ops(t)->show(), although BTF_KIND_UNKN has no operation-table entry. Reachability requires the ability to run a BPF program that supplies a vmlinux BTF type identifier; exercising the path causes an oops and can panic the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
