Kernel crash via undersized CFP rule buffer
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in the Linux bcm_sf2 DSA driver allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through an ethtool rule-list ioctl. bcm_sf2_cfp_rule_get_all() copies every set CFP bitmap entry into rule_locs[] without stopping at the caller-supplied nfc->rule_cnt allocation size, and a zero count leaves the destination NULL. An administrator must first install CFP rules; an unprivileged local caller can then crash the kernel or corrupt kernel memory by requesting zero or too few slots.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
