Local service hang via unbounded deficit refill
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Denial of service in Linux kernel DRR scheduling allows local users to hang packet scheduling via a crafted quantum and size table. drr_change_class() accepts a quantum as low as one or derives an unfloored psched_mtu(), letting drr_dequeue() spin while refilling a roughly 2 GiB packet deficit under the qdisc lock. Exploitation requires CONFIG_NET_SCH_DRR and namespace-local CAP_NET_ADMIN; the resulting lockup interrupts packet scheduling on the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
