Kernel memory leak via resume-time buffer reallocation
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Resource leakage in the AMD IOMMU driver in Linux 6.0 allows repeated system resumes to consume unreclaimed kernel memory. iommu_init_ga_log() unconditionally replaces ga_log and ga_log_tail during enable_iommus_vapic() on every resume, losing both prior allocations. The path requires AMD IOMMU guest virtual APIC support and suspend/resume activity; testing showed kernel IOMMU pages rising from 17 to 25 after five cycles.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
