Invalid nested-domain setup via sign-discarded allocation error
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Improper error handling in Linux 7.0 allows attackers to create a nested AMD IOMMU domain with an unallocated host domain ID. amd_iommu_alloc_domain_nested stores the signed result of amd_iommu_pdom_id_alloc in a u32 before checking for failure, converting a negative errno into a large positive identifier. Triggering requires domain-ID exhaustion or memory pressure during nested-domain allocation; no further security consequence is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
