Oversized RX operations via unchecked pull error
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Signed-length conversion in the Linux 5.19 vDPA network simulator allows attackers to pass an oversized length into RX handling. The vdpa_sim_net worker adds a negative vringh_iov_pull_iotlb() result to an unsigned byte counter, then converts it to size_t for receive_filter() and vringh_iov_push_iotlb(). This requires an active vDPA simulator network queue and a failed TX pull; published material does not establish a narrower attacker privilege or a resulting crash, disclosure, or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
