Local crash via stale debugfs pointer
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel 6.11 corsair-cpro hwmon driver allows local users to crash the kernel via a stale debugfs file. ccp_debugfs_init creates files before hwmon registration, so a failed probe frees their devm-managed ccp object without removing the files. Triggering the dereference requires a failed device probe and local access to the retained debugfs entry, which is root-only by default.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
