Kernel stack disclosure via uninitialized VXLAN metadata
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Information disclosure in the Linux kernel's VXLAN transmit path allows attackers to leak kernel stack data in transmitted policy IDs. vxlan_xmit_one leaves stack-local _md uninitialized when external tunnel information omits the VXLAN option flag, and vxlan_build_gbp_hdr reads its gbp field. The leak requires metadata collection and GBP on the VXLAN device plus traffic carrying external tunnel information without that flag.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
