RDS-TCP stream corruption via oversized scatterlist mapping
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel's RDS-TCP stack allows attackers to hang RDS workloads and corrupt streams on large-page systems. The rds_message_map_pages() function assigns PAGE_SIZE bytes to every scatterlist entry, so the final entry can transmit bytes beyond the 8,192-byte congestion map as later message headers. Only systems with page sizes above 8,192 bytes are exposed; 4K-page systems are unaffected, and successful triggering disrupts RDS-TCP communication.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
