Target worker hang via incomplete abort completion
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Denial of service in Linux kernel iSCSI target versions before 6.12.111, 6.18.53, or 7.2.7 allows remote attackers to hang a worker. After LUN_RESET aborts a pending write, __iscsit_check_dataout_hdr() discards the final Data-Out PDU without calling target_complete_cmd(), so target_put_cmd_and_wait() never unblocks. Exploitation requires an active iSCSI target and an initiator able to reset a pending write, leaving the affected worker unable to complete further target work.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
