Out-of-bounds access via firmware log TOCTOU
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
A TOCTOU flaw in the Linux kernel 6.6 ivpu driver allows context-dependent attackers to trigger out-of-bounds host memory access. fw_log_from_bo validates header_size and size in a DMA-shared firmware log buffer, but fw_log_print_buffer rereads the mutable fields and dereferences addresses derived from changed values. Reachability requires NPU firmware to alter the shared metadata between validation and use; the published record establishes no user-controlled path or specific crash or disclosure outcome.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
