Stale-address SRAM access via mismatched job size
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Improper validation in the Linux kernel Ethos-U driver 7.2 allows local users to make an NPU job access stale SRAM through a command stream. In ethosu_ioctl_submit_job(), the SRAM-region check compares command-stream use with total device SRAM rather than the job's declared SRAM size, so a zero-sized job skips base-register programming yet passes validation. This requires local access to the Ethos-U submission interface and compatible NPU hardware; the resulting stale-address access has no more specific published consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
